Hello ban, I worked in a pub in Chingford a few years back if you'd like to hear about that. Don't tell us exactly where but you might want to narrow the area down to the Borough or something.
The general consensus is that it takes time and you need to make normal workers feel they have something to gain from fighting, rather than finding enough politico types. It can be pretty lonely though so good luck.
Seeking other organising resturant/pub/kitchen workers
Cheers for the replies.
It's a big company that owns a fair few pubs, so I'll only round it down to anyone in North East London.
There is a general consensus at work that no one likes the company, so agitating isn't really a problem, it's mainly just wanting to get a bit of advice and help, instead re inventing the wheel.
So keep the advice and info coming.
I've already read the stuff on this website, and it was helpful....just the problem of putting it into practise.
Cheers
Yeah I told you about this via PM but just for any other viewers, lots of info in our food service tag:
http://libcom.org/tags/food-service
particularly the pamphlet: http://libcom.org/library/abolish-restaurants
I know some anarchists in New York are involved in restaurant workers organising right now, and the IWW here are attempting to do some in coffee shops, maybe they'd have some advice for you?

Hi
I'm making the first tentative steps towards organising in the pub (plus others nearby in the same chain) I work, but, it's bit lonely on your own. I was wondering if there is anyone out there organised or knows about organised groups in the resturant industry in London, or if you are in that sector and trying to do the same.
Would be happy if you have no contection to the sector at all but wouldn't mind passing on some info or related expereince.
