spoken radio material that is not Noam Chomsky
Hi everyone,
A friend of mine has his own radio station (in New Zealand, having yr own radio transmitter under 4 watts is legal, so no its not pirate or guerrilla radio).
He plays music and anarchist and liberal political stuff. He mostly has Noam Chomsky type spoken word stuff on it. urrgh. I am kind of a bit tired of that stuff. So is there any other radio spoken word material that is out there that isn't Noam Chomsky? I remember hearing an interview with Loren Goldner on fictitious capital that was interesting a while back. Stuff like that would be cool.
thanks in advance.
I've got a cd somewhere with a couple of nefac spoken word bits on it, I'll see if I can find it and send it up
Howard Zinn's A Peoples' History of the United States is available as an audiobook here, if that's any good to you.
I've got a few Mark Steel radio shows I could send your way if you want. Not anarchist by any means, but if you're going for a broad liberal/lefty thing, he's alright. Not sure how that would play out for your mate copyright wise though.
This is from April last year;
"Fictitious Capital, Real Retrogression" - a 1 hour interview with Loren Goldner on the 'Guns and Butter' show, KPFA radio, Berkeley. An assessment and history of post war economic developments, the rise of credit and its consequences etc. A useful summary.

Also alternative tentacles podcasts:

Also have a look through their mp3's there might be some spoken word stuff there:

Thanks everyone. Some of the stuff on Audio anarchy looks interesting, like the Against the logic of Submission one, but not Crimethinc's Days of War or whatever its called. My gosh, imagine a radio show playing that. Only in America hopefully.
The Zinn book would be good to have on as Maori here were treated very similar to Indians in the US.
I wish there was more stuff like Goldner's interview out there.
