How up to date is this leaflet?

Doing a stall outside the Starbucks in Liverpool in the near future and I was thinking it might be an idea to have a few copies of it to hand.

Oops, forgot to add a link to the leaflet for anybody not familiar with it.

The minimum pay info is out of date. A new one is being prepared with latest figures and which will also include Working Time Directives and grievance procedures.

Cheers. Any idea when the updated version is likely to be ready?

on the Working Time Directive, might be interesting/useful to note that he's currently doing his best to avoid attempts to get rid of the current "voluntary" opt-out that UK workers are allowed to have (which basically boils down to - do you want this job? then opt-out!).

Despite his best efforts, though, looks like the 48 hour week (wow, so little, that even leaves enough time in the week for a proper night sleep and to do essential shopping at the weekend!) might become a hard-won victory for British workers at some point relatively soon.

Is there some kind of grievance procedure available to workers who aren't ina union in the UK? Tyoically a grievance procedure in north america is part of any union contract.

I think employers (at least public sector) have to have grievance procedures applying to all staff.

From October 2004 all employers are required to operate minimum statutory grievance procedures by law.

When you've got some new ones done and printed can you send some to Norwich Anarchists? Norwich Anarchists, PO BOX 487, Norwich, NR5 8WE. Be appreciated! Cheers, Rich

Updated SYB leaflet has been done. It has got new minimum wage rate, working time directives and grievance procedure. It will continue to improve in terms of layout but the up-to-date information is there. Haven't got them printed as yet but if you want a pdf email prestonsf@solfed.org.uk or pm me.

Should be up on the solfed website soon www.solfed.org.uk

He certainly does. (Ta). And there should be a French version ready for the bookfair also.
