Aqua Caliente tribe spent over 3 million dollars fighting the union just in the press. They hired consultants who's full time job it was to bust the union. They interviewed tons of workers. They ran newspaper adds against the union. They ran television ads against the union.

They fired workers. Another casino actually beat up workers. One tribe made workers roleplay how they would kick the union out of their house.

They put out leaflets telling the employees it's "legal to shot union organizers if they come on your property".

And so on....

That is why we told workers to be secret.

Ye be fighting against the natives? That's a right bit of racist poppycock if ye ask me. The workers should string you fascist business unionists up to a tree. Bob's your uncle. Wot guv?

thugarchist, this is a forum for serious discussion, this kind of pointless trolling is unacceptable.

this forum has nothing, not one fucking thing, to do with organizing.

we've tried to have a discussion about organizing on the folks on this fucking list can break out of their "we hate real unions" mode long enough to even think about what it means to move the average worker to take action against capitalism and win.

If you or duke maybe stopped your childish insults for five minutes then maybe you could engage in some useful discussion.

why don't youse just ban Chuck, he's a union hack, he's not a libertarian communist, just fuck him out. Afterall workers wanting to organise anything militant and worthwhile don't tend to let the Union bureacrats into the meeting. wink

If duke and chuck do not stop their personal attacks (for example on mitch and tom), insults and trolling then they will be banned, yes.

Which is a shame because while I don't agree with them I think they would be good to discuss with because it's clear they know useful stuff.

chcuk should be banned on the basis that he's a union hack, duke can stay even if he is annoying.

ok. so this isn't a personal attack, eh?
you think you can tell me i'm not an anarchists...?

What a bunch of fucking idiots. Lefty bullshit armchair communists who want to think their way out of capitalism, but don't want to get their fucking hands dirty in the process.

Organizing the working class is hard, and you fucks just want to criticize.

Theory means dick if you can't put it into practice. And you obviously don't want to.

You will only build a social revolution when 90% of the working class is organized, and your workplace resistance groups offer no formula or plan. You syndicalists unions focus on coffee shops and dog grooming stands and MP's. If the working class has any chance it's when we think big. When we put all of our time into when we fight like hell with workers not to be scared, lame, apathetic or weak. When we strengthen our class by strengthening the workers inside it. When we raise up their hope.

You "anarchists", "libertarians", "communists", what the fuck ever on this list. Truely just have contempt for workers, that they are stooges that will allow themselves to be conned by slick snake oil salesmen called union organizers; that they are too stupid and will just get sucked in.

Well. this is and you, all of you on this list is why anarchism has died and remained dead for the last 80 years.

Revolution is work and you certainly are lazy worthless fucks

I'm a union hack too! However, I prefer the term Liberated Parasite.

As for the clownish behavior... Chuck spreads retardism like mosquitos spread malaria. I humbly apologize!

Its entirely legitimate to question the role of staff in a workers' organization. I disagree, mostly, with the standard anarchist analysis but it has some present day and historical reality to back it up.

This I generally agree with. Winning requires a certain amount of acceotance of the world the way it is.

Practice means dick if you don't know what you're trying to accomplish and why.

You only need 15% for a revolution historically. I thought you were big on reading Mao?

I think there's a grain of truth here, but its true for all ideaologies. If people think they're right they develop an internal arrogance towards the average person and a hatred towards competing ideologies. Its natural. For an anarchist it becomes important to challenge it within ourselves.

Chuck was a member of the anarchist peace punk movement in the U.S. as lead singer for A//Political. Just thought I'd mention that.

actually left libertarians are pretty good. it's the "institutional" left that's got the illness (academics, feminists, subalternists, social democrats, any -ism that's attached to someone's name). (oh, and left communists.) i think they're in love with their brains and like to show off by theorizing.

Chuck, thanks for clarifying re: your take on the CCU.

For the record, I _do_ see "they're not a real union" as an attack on the CCU, and since I fucking love those cats I get hot under the collar over it. Either way, for what it's worth, I'm not one to argue that the IWW is the great white hope of the working class. If that turns out to be true, cool. If not, fine. We won't know till the revolution. Either way, we're a good organization doing good work, made up of people who work for a living. I'm absolutely sure of that and if that's all we end up being then fine.
