Alright all.
I picked up a copy of Stuff your boss flyer on saturday from the brighton talks day, regarding maternity pay as of April 1st 2007, has been extended to 9 months.
See the DTI's bluurb below.

Guidance Giving Information on the Rights for Pregnant Women

Babies due on or after 1 April 2007
Maternity entitlements and responsibilities: a guide - babies due on or after 1 April 2007

This guidance covers the legislation around working during pregnancy, maternity leave, maternity pay, and return to work. The rules which have changed are:

* all employed women are entitled to additional maternity leave (see Maternity Leave section);
* the payment period for statutory maternity pay and maternity allowance has been extended to 39 weeks (see Statutory Maternity Pay section);
* the notice a woman must give if she is changing her date of return from maternity leave has been increased from 28 days to 8 weeks (see Keeping in Touch section);
* optional keeping in touch days have been introduced enabling a woman to work for up to 10 days during her maternity leave period (see Keeping in Touch section);
* we have clarified that all women have a right to return to work after maternity leave regardless of the size of the employer (see Return to Work section).

Babies due on or before 31 March 2007

I've a table outlining the main family leave changes pre and post April 2007 together with some of the changes in the pipeline. I'll email it to the button then he can forward it on if it's of any use.

Anyone out there got access to the original SYB PDF, so i can change it after i've worked out how, i've got adobe pdf creator or anyone who knows anything about playing with pdf's with that software, would be of use.

It might be best to make any changes in the original Word document and then create another PDF from that? (If the original doc can be tracked down). Otherwise, the on-line reviewing function in Adobe 8 might work - but I think any changes would come up as comments and the originator would have to make the final changes. Not sure though.

Just a thought - do you have stuff your boss online anywhere? it might be worth getting a permanent URL for it, then on the leaflets saying "correct a time of printing Mar 2006, please check solfed.org.uk/stuff for updates" then updating the site as and when...

Best to edit the document in pdm format - a stage before pdf.
