Oxford and Reading

We've got some new members in Oxford and Reading. If there's anyone around those parts who is interested in anarcho-syndicalism and getting a local set up get in touch at solfed [at] solfed.org.uk red n black star

By the way, I'm one of said new guys, in Oxford myself.

Are any of the Reading guys here on Libcom? It'd be good to get to know them. smile

I'm not sure if they post on here, but I've sent you their email addresses so you can get in touch with them.

Okay, so I've been in touch with the Reading comrades and we're currently arranging a weekend face-to-face meeting (details TBC).

It goes without saying that any other interested comrades in Oxford/Reading should get in touch and come along to the meeting once we've figured out the specifics.

Cheers

Oh yeah, would you look at that.

Also, 'Thames Valley' has been put forward as a potential name for this lovely local. Perhaps a little more inclusive than 'Oxford & Reading' - and less of a mouthful.

Ain't Oxford and Reading about twenty miles apart? From previous experience in Kent its sometimes hard to get meetings organised if folk don't have access to transport.

There's a direct and pretty regular train link between Oxford and Reading. They're quite far apart but at the same time fairly easy to go between.

Exactly. When I was living in London, it used to take me about an hour (a bit more if there was trouble on the tube) to make it to NLSF meetings and I was just in another part of the city!

Anyway, good luck to the Thames Valley Solfed people! I'm sure you'll all do good work! smile

Can one of you PM me too? I really like The Commune from what I've read.

This is so true. London is huge.
