Hi Matt.
I'm involved in South London Solidarity Federation. We've been running in our current form for about 4 years now, and meet in New Cross once every 2-3 weeks. Most of us live in the borough of Lewisham, although we do have members a bit further afield.
We hold monthly film nights at Cafe Crema in New Cross, showing a mixture of "political" & mainstream films with a political message. The next one is this Wednesday, in fact. Details are here.
We're also involved in solidarity work with sacked Starbucks workers in the US, as well as supporting the work that the Industrial Workers of the World union (IWW) are doing to organise coffee shop workers in the UK.
We've got other stuff we're involved in, but that's a bit of a taster for you. One of the main things we do is to support each other in the various struggles we're involved in, in our workplaces & communities -- this is the all-important "small stuff" that it's hard to write about on a message board, but -- for me at least -- makes being a member of an anarchist group worthwhile.
If you wanted to know a bit more about the Solidarity Federation (a national anarchist group that we're affiliated to), the website is here: - http://www.solfed.org.uk/
Anyway, so much for the sales pitch.
Drop me a PM, or post again on this thread if you'd like to get in touch.
