New Group Forming in SE London

Lewisham Solidarity Group, Thursday 22 February, Dog and Bell, Princes st, Deptford, 7.30pm.
This meeting is to dicuss setting up a group, similiar to the Haringey Solidarity Group http://haringey.org.uk , a sort of Use Your Loaf without a building. The idea is to combine a campaigning focus with a social activity base. It still very early days so if you would like to see a group of like minded people, working and playing together for social change in SE London, come along with enthusiasm, ideas, smiles and have a drink and a chat.

sounds good, best of luck you crazy south london types. i know the HSG have really been trying hard to get other groups going in london, so i'm glad some folks are actually having a go

You could always have a bash at starting one out your way. The reason it's "all happening" in South London is 'cos we kick arse.

Now, now revol, why don't you stalk me instead of guy for change.
As to why a new group, there appears to demand for a group which isn't so tightly 'politicially' defined in it's identity. Now i know all the arguments and we folks in SLSF have tried to address this over many years, but it still seems to recur. So some folks are interested in a broader defined group (still non-hier. etc)so i am helping facilatate this. I'm being the mid-wife so to speak. Another organised group with broadly similar approach to work with hopefully.

Hah! I did think of that tbh when i read this new thread but "out my way" i think it would just be a group of one atm.. . and i need my sodding health sorted out cos i haven't even been able to do my AF stuff lately let alone start a new project. It is not out of the question for the future tho - if there is some interest in my area - i mean i like organising stuff as peeps know..
