19 March, 2008 - 18:26

I'll be outside in a van drinking cider with my mates tbh.

19 March, 2008 - 19:14

i think it sounds ok, but i hate all of you so won't go tongue

19 March, 2008 - 19:47

i'm genuinely intrigued here... i've heard that in london it's big, but i can't imagine you all playing electroclash. tbh i can't really imagine electroclash being genuinely enthused about as a genre. enlighten me?

best wishes neutral

EDIT this is the best i can find:

Quote:
What I think is interesting is how much of what the brain dead music meeja is currently calling 'Nu Rave' is in fact just electroclash. New Young Pony Club are pure electro, as are CSS and Hot Chip. The only obvious 'rave' influences are on the likes of Hadouken and not in a good way.

the music cataloguing site i use doesn't describe them as electroclash, nor wikipedia, tho both i think include the faint. when i think of electroclash i think of fischerspooner. they're ok, i thought they were cool back in 2001, but never got "into" the scene as i had a breakdown.

so what's it to be electroclash or synth-indiepop/nu rave?

19 March, 2008 - 21:29

where does it say electroclash, electro, or nu rave will be played at my night lem?

'Joggus Onnicus' as the romans said.

19 March, 2008 - 21:30

you've got such a fucking attitude problem. jog on yourself tack bro.

no that's not what i was saying, way to misunderstand. not taught much at school were you tongue

19 March, 2008 - 21:39

i might go actually just to wind up mr aggression.

19 March, 2008 - 21:45

sure i'll take £4 off you for a good cause - you are welcome to come lem neutral Its like, a public event you know?

er now stop sending me unhinged PMs

19 March, 2008 - 21:45

19 March, 2008 - 22:11

You revisionists!!!

22 March, 2008 - 15:38

did it go well smile

sorry for derailing your thread tacks. anyway, it's disappointing that no-one can provide any info on electroclash. wikipedia says "Electro fashion is also known as electroclash, a style that came about from the big underground cities known for a club scene, such as Berlin, New York and Detroit". so maybe the electroclash clubs are referring to some kind of dress code or whatever. cool.

wiki also says of 'electro':

Quote:
Electro music, a genre of music related to hip hop and funk.
Genres descended from electro, such as electroclash, electropop, and electro house, although this use is contentious

i guess it's the whole "we have that genre name already!" thing lol.

like i say, sorry tacks i was just interested in london.

Am I the only person who spotted this?

23 March, 2008 - 12:06

what? That he played a night called electric avenue?

Anyway - great night cheers for your help OL smile

23 March, 2008 - 13:26

Im referring to this

23 March, 2008 - 14:20

Yep, got that. The name of the song is iteself referring to a street in brixton and the clubnight is referring to both the song and the street.

What a complicated lot we are down south!
