Hmmm well I know another enrager user recently moved to southampton but he hasn't posted in a while - will try to PM him
Hampshire, Southampton? Where are the Anarchists?
There used to be an excellent annual event in Southsea - the Smokey Bears Picnic, which brought hilarious responses from Hampshire Police.
Sadly I seem to have lost touch with the organisers, and I don't think it has been held for a couple of years .......... a real shame.
Cheers guys and gals!!! Thanx for ur replys!!! If any of u here of any anarchist groups in the fine county of Hampshire keep replying!! I'd like to believe the solent isn't completely apathetic!
The whole of south Hampshire can't possibly be bourgeois liberals! For all our sake! I'll keep looking, so ur solidarity would be greatly welcommed!!
Keep it free!!
Lots of love,
The lonely Saint's Anarchist!
Well i'm in the solent/south hampshire area (Waterlooville). Also looking for other groups.....
Apparently theres a group called Portsmouth resistance starting up. They're in the process of setting up a website but you can e-mail em on: grassroots@loft33.freeserve.co.uk or phone 02392818849.
But Portsmouth aint Southampton is it......
Hi, I'm a student at the University of Southampton and I'm intending to setup an anarchist/autonomous/libcom whatever group here asap. There are a few like-minded folk here that I know, as well a small DIY punk scene which embodies anarchist views, but they do little outside of the music scene. The problem to me is that there is no organisation to speak of (that I have found in 3 years here at least), which is probably why we appear invisible and hence why I'm trying to organise the society.
I'm currently talking to other student anarchist groups in the UK for advice on how to go about this, namely: Sussex autonomous students and Norwich anarchist students and any help or advice would be gratefully received. Likewise if anyone knows of other similar groups, especially student-based organisations that I could badger for advice I would be very grateful. I'll keep you informed of my progress either way.
Hi all,
I just recently moved from Edinburgh to Bournemouth, just across the border, and am up for meeting folk. am happy to travel to Southampton from time to time. What kinds of things are folk interested in? Maybe start off with something gentle like a discussion group or pub nights?
(Just realised this thread is from 2003 -- well maybe time to restart it?)
Puck x
A new group has started up in Bournemouth.
Alter-globalisation Bournemouth is a discussion group for people who want to question the status quo and who are looking to imagine alternatives (for global politics and for everyday life). Folk who've come along so far have been inspired by a variety of movements and ideas, from fair trade to Indymedia, anarchism to buddhism, and feminism to the Zapatistas. There is no 'party-line', only a request to listen respectfully to each other.

This is a large cry for any anarchists who live in South Hampshire (ie Southampton, Eastleigh, Winchester, etc.). Where are you all hiding?
Even though I am currently at uni in the fine city of Norwich, I still look out for individuals and groups in my home area. If there is any people who know of or are interested in a Solent/South Hampshire group please, please, please reply!!!!!!!!!!
As when i get back i canny be arsed to go to London for groups!!
