I know people do get harassed but the way the article claims it is all organised by one man because he is a satanist? completely mad.
The advice about computers is stupid and paranoid to, you should backup your files but not because some evil nazi satanist (isn't being a nazi bad enough so they have to make him a satanist to) is going to hack into it and steal you identity, but because computers go wrong, and you don't need to have a separate off line computer you just need a hard drive.
A separate computer is not necessary to keep people from accessing it from the internet either, just use a firewall and don't install random crap off the internet, and dont go telling the everyone your really name and address, and you will be fine, its not like in films where the superhacker starts typing then 5 minuets later he's owned the system

It is a pity you chose the most stupid reply to the indymedia article - not the best way to rubbish someone elses work.
1) Redwatch are hardly likely to copy pictures already on the internet - they want new victims.
2) The photos are actually taken from victim's web cams. You can see the reflection of the monitor in their pupils and their hand on the mouse. At the same time the address is stolen from letters on the target computer.
The hacker has long term multiple IDs on many political boards and of course he is on this one. It isn't surprising if he wants cover this up. You might at least try to vary your insults a little. I had exactly the same rubbishy computer 'advice' on a fake Afro Caribbean board that is being run to trap black people for ID theft and harassment.
Anyone who says that hackers do not have access to the victim's computer files / documents is a fool or a liar.
If anyone on this board is engaged in any serious political activity, you ought to be aware that covert surveillance by nazi hackers is just as dangerous as overt harassment.
This technique has been used on me and other people I know. The person who does this will have already all the addresses and mobile numbers of people registered on this board, if they are kept on documents on their computers. Its up to you, but don't say you were not warned.

Yeah but River the point is that if you actually look at Redwatch most of the pics are recognisably from other websites, many of them are blatantly from Indymedia. The state of the website should tell you how technically profiecient they are.
And if anyone turned on my phone they'd likely only hear conversation so banal as to kill them, me doing the washing up, or train chatter. They'd have to have the resources of the state to get useful information from it, which is why the state can and does do this.

Some groups of people seem to be more at risk from this than others. The person who is responsible for this has strong connections with a group of paedophiles, so if you have a family, please take the following security measures.
1)Buy a cheap used laptop / desktop – almost any old computer will do, so there is no need to pay a lot. Use this to type letters, store your family photographs and other personal stuff. Keep all documents with your home address, location of your children's school etc. on this machine. Never use it on the internet.
2)Transfer all the private data from your internet computer to the used laptop / desktop and re-format the hard drive of the internet computer.
3)Install some decent security software on the internet computer (a firewall which 'stealths' your IP address would ideal).
