Secondary Picket

I know secondary pickets in the US are illegal per Taft-Hartley, but I was wondering if this applies only to the union. Would non-participants (obviously showing no collusion with the union) be subject to the same rules?

Additionally, can anyone provide essential readings regarding flying pickets? I've only been able to come across bits and pieces.

I'm pretty sure if you picket at a workplace or a business where you're not employed (the technical definition of secondary picket/boycott, right?) it's illegal under Taft-Hartley -- even if you're not in a union or it doesn't involve a union.

But I'm collecting unemployment insurance right now from a strike at my former non-union workplace last spring, where we went out over demands, and I didn't quit but reported back to work where I was informed that according to federal labor law I'd been "replaced." When I did phone interviews to qualify for unemployment, they interviewer read off a questionnaire that didn't even have categories for labor disputes that don't involve unions. I think it's become so exceptional for labor disputes to not involve unions that no one knows what the legalities around them are.
