final draft: act 4 radical europe
http://www.nettime.org/Lists-Archives/nettime-l-0701/msg00024.html
this above is the version we have submitted for general discussion. We saw that comments were posted on libcom on a much earlier draft ("socialdemocratic shite dressed in activist speak" was definitely one of our fave comments). This version is tighter and more anticapitalist. Hope people will want discuss this draft as well. We seize the occasion to invite you to Milano and in other occasions to discuss (and change!) the document. ciao for now, ng

BRAINSTORM 4 RADICAL EUROPE
Milano, Friday-Saturday-Sunday, February 16-17-18
infoline: +39-347-2593545
Dear sisters and comrades,
We would like to discuss Act 4 Radical Europe with you by inviting all of you and friends (and friends of activist friends) to Milano on the weekend of Saturday, February the 17th.
The document traces the ideas and possible strategies for a new
transnational association of activists --called Act 4 Radical Europe, or A4RE dubbed as "ayforee"-- which we would like to formally constitute to put stronger pressure on and escalate conflict against the european corporate and state elites. we want to agitate the streets to shake the buildings of europower, as somebody well put it.
Why don't we get together to think how to spoil the party for Barroso and the neoliberal elite during the celebrations for the 50th anniversary of Europe?

still sounds social democratic, dressed in euro-activist lingo to my ears (like the 'middlesex declaration' all over again):
Income security and cultural autonomy are to become crucial foundations for a new European welfare system (...) To give the European Commission a new role: that of European Government, expression of the European Parliament, accountable to and petitionable by the European Public. (...) To return to keynesian, expansionary fiscal and monetary policies
anticapitalist keynesianism?
and i love the random uses of 'biopolitcs', makes me think of alex foti *sigh*
fostering biopolitical creativity and social insurgency.

It is Alex Foti
less flippantly, tbh it sounds like a load of activists looking for an intellectual justification for their activism. of the four 'departments', the one that comes closest to any kind of collective action (as opposed to guerilla eco-action), is 'the syndicate', "a social advocacy and media subvertising group assisting temp workers and part-timers, pink collars and networkers, in their struggles against governments and corporations." what struggles? i mean would 'the syndicate' go and spray-paint over adverts during the gate gourmet dispute?
The problem is, despite the earlier insistence that you are part of the 'flexiprecarijargontariat' or whatever, you clearly view social - dare i say it class - struggle as something external to you, to be 'assisted' by 'media subvertising.' where's the class? negri has a lot to answer for.
How about...
we need not only to further the social and political demands of the creative/service class of which we are expression, ...
speak for yourself, pal.
but also to engage the progressive sectors of the European middle classes.
er... sorry, what progressive sectors?
we want to go back to the radical spirit of the Enlightenment and the revolutionary birth of democracy.
Mother of all
, this is your idea of anti-capitalism?
Still, I might go to the thing in Milan if I suddenly get rich. It'd give me a chance to alienate leftists in a whole other country
1936 was the year of[...]Franco's aggression against the republican, socialist and anarchist Spanish Popular Front
By the way, your history needs a little work.
On the history thing
it was also the time when European and international fascism first unleashed genocidal war in Europe and Asia: only a global popular front could manage to finally defeat nazis and fascists in 1945, after immense suffering and through civil wars of liberation.
Wow, Winston Churchill part of a global Popular Front? This must be from the Ketamine History of the World.
