The article published in the history section here titled "1919: The murder of Frank Everett" http://libcom.org/history/1919-the-murder-of-frank-everett is wrong.
I don't care if it's taken word for word from Zinn, it's still wrong.

The name of the fellow worker lynched after the defense of the IWW hall was
Wesley Everest, not Frank Everett. I suspect someone mixed him up with Frank Little, a wobbly who was lynched in 1917, and the Everett massacre which occured in 1916.

The story of the Centralia shoot-out, lynching and IWW organizing in the area can be found at
http://www.iww.org/PDF/Centralia.pdf
a essay written shortly after the events by Ralph Chaplin, of Solidarity Forever fame.

The University of Washington has a reasonably objective article on the incident at
http://content.lib.washington.edu/iwwweb/read.html

A brief bio and photograph of Everest in army uniform is at

I did wonder about that, cos I've read about a Frank Everest as well, in addition to frank little and the everett massacre. Has zinn been contacted about it? i'm sure he'd make the correction...

A quick google turned up only one Frank Everest of any historical significance and he was a US Air Force officer of some sort. I don't know if anyone has brought this to Zinn's attention. Not having actually read A People's History i wasn't aware of the error untill just today when i read the article and went wtf, that ain't right!
