Coming out of lurkerdom to post this...
I'm a disability rights activist and an anarchist on at least a philosophical and probably also a political level.
In the disability blogosphere, there are a lot of activist bloggers (based in the US of course) who are very strongly grounded in radical libertarian/socialist values (even if they wouldn't necessarily consciously identify as such, it's about the only demographic-based movement i've encountered which is consistently both libertarian and socialist IMO), but who are vocal supporters of Barak Obama because of certain stances he has taken on particular disability-related issues.
(I've encountered something similar, but on a somewhat lesser scale, with certain feminist/pro-choice bloggers and Hillary Clinton...)
I want to write a blog post called something along the lines of "Why Obama Will Not Save You", using some specific stuff about Obama, but the primary argument of the post being about the inherent worthlessness of the whole electoral system and the oxymoron of "representative democracy".
I was wondering if anyone here could point me to some good articles to link to which basically give an "Anarchism 101"-style (ie aimed at people who are not necessarily familiar with all the nuances of anarchism) run down of why elections are crap and voting in them is pointless, and/or possibly something US-specific on how the Democratic Party is in reality no different from the Republicans...
(I'm in the UK myself, but the majority of disability rights bloggers seem to be either US or Canadian...)
Thanks

Yeah the WSM has done a couple of fairly large propagaganda campaigns around elections based on distributing leaflets door to door (so they don't assume people are anarchists).
The 2007 campaign page is at http://www.wsm.ie/election07
A PDF file of the 2002 leaflet is at http://struggle.ws/wsm/pdf/leaf/ele02choice.html
And for real detailed argument there is the 40 page booklet 'Parliament or Democracy' at http://struggle.ws/once/pd_intro.html
