It's more an analysis of the Iranian ruling elites and the fractures within them. What I'd also like to see is a social naalysis that looks at what will be the grassroots makeup of various sides in the coming class war(s). THe article says that about 10 million Iranians are with the regime for the long haul -- but what about the remaining 60 million? Most of them are urban-based, most are under-25, etc... What hold does the (liberal) nationalist movement have still? Will its heirs go with an Iranian regime due to 'patriotism' or will they welcome the yanks as liberators -- or will they take another path all together?
