Work. Community. Politics. War - a colouring book manifesto

By prole.info

It's been around for ages and we help host it, but I've only just got round to reading it embarrassed

I think it's pretty inspiring text, and the layout is just beautiful, I am very impressed. I recommend to everyone!

It's a shame it ends to abruptly, I think I'd end it with the Vaneigem quotation - "We have a world of pleasures to win, and nothing to lose but boredom" - but hey.

If I had any criticisms I think it'd be that some bits are a bit vague, could do with being a bit more grounded in everyday examples and I think the bit about class struggle could be better explained cos it's so key. My favourite short description is the "bosses want workers working longest hours for the least money, we want the fewest hours and the most money".

But anyway if you haven't, check it out:

Hey. This is the author. I'm glad y'all like it. The guy on page 15 wasn't actually supposed to be michael moore, but I like that it looks like him... that's funny. Can you find Pierce Brosnan, Vandana Shiva, Snoop Dogg and James Dean?

I thought it was really beautifully written and put together - not enough political stuff is interesting to read (unless you're a politics geek).

I liked it, but some of my non-anarchist friends thought it was pretensious and juvinile.

Yeah I mean I think this is a key thing about anarchist writing, no one will like everything. Different things will appeal to different demographics/subcultures. I think stuff like that would appeal to the young "alternative" demographic who are attracted to CrimethInc. stuff

Does anyone have a pdf of this?

I want to print it off for the anarchist society in my university but the pdf on prole.info isn't working, nor is the one on libcom. And the otherone isn't laid out as a pmphlet.

Hi

It's so nice that I’m somewhat embarrassed to say that I have problems accepting some of it’s political content. I just haven’t got the heart to criticize something John. finds “inspiring”.

I’m sure non-lefties will get the message when they get as far as…

Quote:
We don’t have property or a business we can make money from, so we are forced to sell our time and energy to someone else.

And think, what’s the difference between earning a wage and running a business anyway? Besides, there are plenty of well paid management, with no shares in their firms, who daily consciously place obstacles in the way of working class people finding a little satisfaction from life, who are as technically proletarian (in the above sense) as their minions.

I wasn’t going to do that. Sorry.

Love

LR
