Hey All,

Im only recently looking into how corrupt our society is and for sure its a real eye opener.

I live in the south west of Scotland where I really cant find to much going on, I can get to Glasgow though if there is more going on there.

A few questions :

1 - What do you think is the best to start off with, material wise? websites ect
2 - Anyone around the area know of anyone willing to help fill me in on what Ive been lacking over the years it seems?
3 - Any groups or meets happening in the South West or Glasgow area?

I apologise in advance if these questions have been asked a million times, I was passed a video which was a meeting held by John Harris and from then on its just been opening doors thats giving a lot of clarity to things.

Anyway any help would be much appreciated. Cheers

1. This is a pretty decent starting place, look around in the library a bit. Also, here's a quick introduction to Anarchist Communism. There's also the Anarchist FAQ, which is very long but good for specific questions. If that's not enough, Anarchism - As We See It might also be a good starting point.
2 and 3 There's a pretty good Glasgow anarchist group. The Glasgow Anarchist Federation can be contacted at glasgow (at) afed.org.uk, and they're involved in a bigger anarchist group who can be reached at glasgow_anarchists (at) riseup.net
You can read their blog here: http://glasgowanarchists.wordpress.com/
There's also the Radical Glasgow site: http://www.radicalglasgow.me.uk/ I'm sure they'd be happy to chat to you.

You might also wanna think about joining the glasgow IWW or go along to a few of its gatherings and see what you think.

Only the IWW have nothing to do with anarchism.

Through their collective lack of confidence, coherence and ability to stick to their core principles they have become honorary anarchists!

There are a few good books introducing Anarchism.
You can find anarchist bookshops via search engines.

Remember there is more than one sort of anarchist, surely we agree on that, even if we don't agree
on the methods!

You will find 100 authors mentioned, and it won't surprise anyone if I mention Colin Ward, Proudhon, Gustav Landauer, although I'm not sure there are many here who would choose them first!

Apart from this excellent website, also check out www.infoshop.org

Infoshop.org is pretty crap, but it's the home of "big tent" anarchism so if that's your cup of tea do check it out.
