Despite the paucity of offerings as is inevitable in a Bank Holiday weeks broadcasting this weeks featured programmes on political and economic situations in countries and regions not generally explored in much, if any depth, provide some degree of enlightenment and food for thought.

Wed 30 May - 8.30 - 9pm - BBC4 - Indian School - 3/10
This particular edition of the series documenting the lives of pupils and teachers in the up and coming city of Pune considers both how some working people are benefitting from the rise in economic growth such as call centre work but also expresses concerns at how economic growth is destroying the area and increasing the gap between rich and poor.

Wed 30 May - 9 - 10pm - More4 - True Stories: The Child Sex Trade
Liviu Tipurita visits Romania to investigate the sudden rise in the trafficking of children into the sex trade, meeting victims of paedophilia. This programme is Pick of the Week for shining at least a small amount of light on an area of economic life that most people would do anything to avoid looking at.

Thu 31 May - 7 - 7.30pm - BBC2 - This World: Hunting for Hezbollah - 2/5
This ever informative documentary strand tonight considers whether the infamous Iranian-backed militants are back and the guide for this journey into Beiruts dark interior is a wisecracking former Shia militiaman.
An engaging view of a complex political situation told with economy.

Fri 1 June - 7.35 - 8pm- Channel 4 - Unreported World - 8/10 - Timor
A look at the turbulent situation in Timor eight years after a messy and bloody split from Indonesia. The Australian-led UN force are struggling to remain in control as the rebels that spent years fighting the Indonesian army are threatening to restart their armed resistance.
