I had this on the temp forum, but figured I'd repost on here to see if anyone who didnt go to the temp forum knows.
I'm currently working on a book about Jewish radicals (and campaigns, groups and projects) in modern (post 1800 preferably) history, and one that I would like to include but have found comparatively little about is Jessie Helfmann, a seamstress and one of the Narodnaya Volya (People's Will), the Russian group that assasinated Tsar Alexander II of 1881.
I've been reccomended Underground Russia by Stepniak as somewhere that has a brief profile of Helfmann, which I have to get.
Has anyone here come across much/anything on Helfmann during their readings? Or have ideas on good places to look?
Cheers,
Asher
p.s: Any suggestions for relatively unknown but significant Jewish radicals/radical groups, campaigns or projects (anarchist or not) that I probably wouldn't have thought of are more than welcome. The current list of topics (to be added to) can be found at http://anarchia.wordpress.com/my-book/

If you want to write any short histories of any of these campaigns, groups, people, whatever we'd love to have them.
