Which temperament are you?

I've just come across this site, which speculates on whether different personality types (in the Jungian sense, as measured by the Myers-Briggs test) are more or less likely to support the state. So I thought it'd be interesting to see what distribution of temperaments we have here on enrager. Obviously it'll be massively skewed by the fact that some personalities are probably more likely to use the internet, and to do bullshit personality tests, but anyway...

There's a free version of the test here. I haven't listed all 16 types in the poll, just the four basic Temperaments, each of which uses two of the four letters.

I've done a few different versions of the test over the years, and I always come out as INTP, which makes me an NT 'rational', the rarest type, but the one apparently most likely to be libertarian (according to the guy who wrote the site above, who just happens to be an NT himself... hmm).

Either ESTP or ISTP (Promotor or Engineer). Neither seem to be tremendously accurate descriptions, but maybe I'm in self denial.

It may be worth doing the test a few times, maybe when you're in different moods, to see how consistent it is (it's pretty consistent for me, but it might not be if you're more balanced than I am ).

I think the enneagram's widely regarded as a load of wank, so I wouldn't worry too much about that one. Although I came out as calm with a sideline in detachment, which seems pretty accurate.

I think that fact that you all took the time to do this quiz says something about your personalities...

I got ESTP which apparently means I am a promoter, that quiz asks you the exact same questions more than once and asks you one question then after that another where the answer is obviously gonna be the exact opposite of the question they asked before.

Yeah, it seems to randomly select questions, and some of them do always seem to come up more than once. There are also some questions that are hard to answer accurately. I've seen better versions of the test before.

Still, if you do it more than once (i.e. if you're really bored at work like me) it should average out.

Hmm, results so far tend to confirm that NTs and NFs are more likely to be anarchists (or maybe just more likely to use internet forums, do personality tests and answer polls).

There's also a coupla people who say they're SPs but haven't bothered with the actual poll, and redyred who claims to be an SJ but is presumably taking the piss ("Nurturer of harmony"?!).

Why does everyone seem to think I'm a liar?

I wouldn't go so far as to call you a liar, but "nurturer of harmony" doesn't really fit too well with accusing people of touching kids.

And I'd be a bit surprised if no-one tried to subvert the poll by lying in the personality test.

And your being an SJ is inconveniently out of line with my preconceived notions.
