Right well seeing as some people don't like the current armchair anarchist etc. custom rank names on taglines, we're upgrading to a series of visual themed rank titles. The themes will be explained in the forum FAQ so no one doesn't "get" the joke.

But which theme should we start with - Star Wars, or The Conquest of Beard?

The admins are split on the issue, and well some are being nobs. wink

So which do people prefer for our first lot?

Star Wars

0+ droid

25+ ewok

100+ rebel

200+ jedi

And we could also maybe have:

moderator

admin:

Conquest of Beard

0-49 Captain Haddock (from Breaking Free - http://tintinrevolution.free.fr/pages/image001.html)

50-199 Kropotkin

200+

Grim up north london:

I would actually consider leaving if libcom acquired a star wars theme.

But please make the beards look a bit less naff. Surely the 200+ one should be the full Karl Marx or something?

Actually, scrap them both and think of something better. They all look shit.

The real question is, will there be a 'nonce' emoticon?

STAR WARS fucking STAR WARS.

i went to see it today and it was actually good and eeee i remember the first star wars movie at the pictures as it was called in them days and it was nearly as good as that. not too much of the usual asperger george lucas i can't script human interaction shite.

so STAR WARS. not beards, because beard promotion is anti beardless people like women. look, you'll only get random kicking off.

oops have i gone to far

eek

Everyone knows a good bushy anarchist beard shows a movement that respects its past, but does not take itself too seriously.

Star Wars is a film for children or geeks, of which this site has its quota.

Go for beards!

quite clearly beards, although i think you've got them in completely the wrong order. it should go grim up north london/poncy artist looking guy as beginners, captain haddock for the middle, and then the full kropotkin. that way the quality of hair growth reflects the posters theoretical development/ability to pontificate out their arse for hours at a keyboard.

also, star wars is obviously just a crap attempt to be populist and in a while (about a week) when the novelty of the new star wars film being so awesome has worn off and we're all sick of the fuckers, it'll look tacky and completely counteract the fact that this board has finally turned into a valuable resource and found it's place in the struggle against capitalism i.e. coordinating the harassment of scabs.

PHEEEEWWWW! I hope you feel better, after that, GT!

Star wars with beards!!! Obi Wan (Alec Guiness).

Definately not the Jazz kid, beard. They have to be mad beards to be anarcho beards, no trotsky, lenin beards or stalin tashes.

Edit. Will i ever be kropotkin...boo hoo.

Why not just give people a choice to reflect their own politics/whatever, rather than tying them in with the tags - especially given that most of us aren't using the default tags anyway.

Yeah, man, it's like, tags are like, putting a label on people, and, yeah, that's not what we're about, is it, yeah?

wink

Um, no, I meant have smilie avatars that aren't linked to a tag, you, er, nonce.

See, I want a smilie, but I don't want the stupid default tag.

Stop making me laugh out loud at work, you bastard.

Especially at that, 'cause I work for a charity heavily involved in child protection.

It is barely possible to consider a post-revolutionary world without beards. It is a necessity that a post-revolutionary world will not include Star Wards.

I therefore choose beards unreservedly.

the beards are a better idea (although arguably unfair to the female posters?), but the execution of it is crappy... the star wars ones look much better and are more fitting to the (tongue-in-cheek) "board hierarchy", so i'll have to go with the star wars ones (but i'd go with the beards if they were done better)...
