Right well it's pretty much half a year to the day when enrager.net died and was re-born as libcom.org
In retrospect - cos there was a lot of bitching at the time - what do you all think of the decision?
What do you think of how the site and the forums have moved on since then? If you prefer any bits, why and what? If some things have got worse, again what and how?
We're going to be doing a big user survey at some point soon, this is kind of a preliminary feeler...
Many thanks for any feedback 8)
It doesn't seem like 6 months, how time flies when you never leave your computer.
I still think "libcom" is a crap name.
i still type in enrager.org to access here
how, when the site was never called enrager.org?
We never even owned enrager.org
I'm still against the name, and still use 'enrager.net' to log on.
however, what I am most definitely for is the increasingly sensible moderatin policy that has been implemented -- and also the way we've all grown as people, and as a community, ahhh 8)
true

Vindication!
You know that was you voting
Go on -- we need a publick poll option!

There's no option for 'Very against, now ambivalent'.

Its a cack name, and the way it was done, ignoring the views of what seemed to be a clear majority of users, was cack handed.
Still, people will get used to anything in the long term.
I wasn't bothered then, and I'm still not.
i don't really mind. i'd say i prefer enrager from merely aesthetic reasons, but libcom is fine too. it's the wonderful community of lovely people that makes this site, not its name.
*sickbucket on standby*
i was against it, but i like it now
The forums have improved immensly in the last 6 months.
Although the ICC people do seem to have replaced the primos as interesting thread destroyers in chief.
Haven't heard from them in a while actually, their latest zine issue had another 'crushing' libcom debate article though (full page
).
Yeah, it's a bit fucking sad that we appear to be their main political *cough* intervention.
The library's really, really useful and the edited history articles are good as well (although I'd prefer more references in them so I can chase stuff more easily, but that's just laziness).
Never gave a flying one about the name.
Yeah, the library's wicked.
I still think the name's a bit naff, though.
No, no, it's all very serious. Apparently,
(http://en.internationalism.org/wr/286_forums.html and check this as well http://en.internationalism.org/wr/287_anarcho_trenchists.html)
So they're not just sitting on their arses pretending that arguing with people who are bored out of their mind at work is a serious political act. No, no, they're building for a communist future. And anybody suggesting that cut and pasting great big chunks from discussion forums is a great way of filling up space with no effort will get a slap.
We're upgrading the history section soon, and gonna put in a bunch of references/further reading when we can. If you've compiled any for articles we've got, or would like to we'd love to have them and we'll chuck them on...
Btw when's the new newswire gonna be doing the replacing of the old one (In general, liking the design of the new one btw, very easy to navigate - is the top bit of the page gonna have the latest news on it or just the admin bit?).
Yeah latest news, 1 or 2 stories only. Should be up by tonight - glad you like it 8)
I hadn't noticed that before, it looks good.
Tonight? Bugger, I might actually have to post something!
