So,

I have been busy lately with work; I have been averaging some 53 hrs a week for shit pay, and then trying to balance school with surprisingly has been going well considering how much I have to work. So, the bastard management has just cut hours (the overtime was mandatory 6 hrs, and then you had the option to work later. Now that they have cut hours, production levels have fallen so sharply that it is impossible to meet already horrible quotas that they were pushing when we were working the overtime, so as you can imagine, discontent has overwhelmed the work site. I have now been working there for 6 months as a temporary employee with no benefits and I guess I just need to vent because it is nearly impossible to do any type of organizing because I practically have no rights as a temp. I could be asked to leave on a moments notice. We have managed to coordinate some lowdowns, to fuck with them a little more, but it has had limited effect, a little personal gratification. So, I have talked to some guys about forming work groups to talk about work, and things we can do as employees to at least minimize managements assault on us, which is difficult because of atomization in our work site. Most of the people working there, including me, need that overtime to be able to not work at an extra part-time employment, which it looks like it is either that for me or finding a new job, which is a frightening prospect considering the economy in these times. It is difficult to find a voice, even for someone such as I who works toward the goal that most of us believe in, someone who is class conscious and willing to stand up. It is hard when you know you have very little backing (possibly 10 or so individuals that are free thinking people at a work campus of some 75 employees.) Sorry if this seems rambling, just thought I would seek out some advice from comrade wobs & libcomers. Also, Any ideas on getting people motivated for a wob meeting? We have about 5 members here where I find myself, but we have had limited success in meeting and making plans and I have tried hard to motivate them.......
