The bitter and occasionally violent strike at the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana in southeast Mexico City has finally come to an end after workers voted to accept the latest deal by the university authorities. Only 108 "delegates" voted in a unionised workplace of thousands, which smells odd to me but whatever. The deal doesn't look too great either, but judging by the slander, abuse and attacks on the striking workers, I think they did well to last this long. News story to come.
