Morrissey and racism

(Your Name) saw this article on libcom.org and thought you would like to see it.

So he's given some dough to Rock Against Racism AND UAF (jesus...) and now he's suing the NME for taking some quotes "out of context".

From a Morrissey zine:

Morrissey zine wrote:
Me: If you walk down Knightsbridge you'll be hard-pressed to hear anyone speaking English.

Tim: I don't think that's true. You're beginning to sound like my parents.

Me: Well, when did you last walk down Knightsbridge?

Tim: Ummm....
Knightsbridge ....is that where Harrods is?

That's typical utter bullshit about London that you'd expect from a Northerner. wink

The reason you don't hear anyone speaking English on Knightsbridge is cos it's full of bourgeois tourists and business visitors going in casinos and buying escorts. Noone fucking lives there, least of all (economic) immigrants. I mean, he could have said Peckham or something...
