The Midwest Action Network located at midwest.azone.org is a networking hub website connected to the developing network of the same name. We are a complimentary resource to other sites of interest. The MAN site links to anti-authoritarian-friendly websites such as infoshop.org and anarchistnews.org in an attempt to cross the gap between local and (inter-)national networking resources.
We've always offered an open wire where anyone can post news, events, pictures, reportbacks or anything else relevant to networking in the region on our main page. Now we connect to regional resources, such as the Midwest Anarchist Neighborhood and Midwest / Great Lakes Indymedias. We offer a new forums area including a general discussion forum for anarchists and anti-authoritarians to chat and develop connections. We also are seeking to host more specific forums like "The Spectacle" and a forum for connecting regional media together in the region.
Founded by the Great Lakes Anarchist Gathering of August 19th & 20th 2006, the MAN site was created to keep the many individuals and cities of the gathering connected, informed and to create more possibilities for face-to-face interaction throughout the region. The website also serves as a contact website for the following 2007 GLAG and the upcoming 2008 GLAG.
We are also proud to link to the listservs of the developing Midwest Action Network and Unconventional Midwest and we endorse the upcoming protest of the RNC in St. Paul September 1st-4th.
