Workers take protest to Parisian theatre
At 18.00 yesterday, a group of cultural, temporary workers, students and “Precaires” (workers in precarious or casual labour), penetrated the prestigious Chaillot National Theatre.
Newspaper Liberation reported the events occured at the Trocadero, in the chic 16th arrondissement of Paris for an indefinite occupation.
Youth worker protests spread to Sweden
A report from Sweden, where the French youth revolt has inspired local opposition to proposed youth labour reforms.
The Chairman of the Swedish liberal party Centerpartiet, Maud Olofsson, recently proclaimed that Sweden should introduce new youth labour laws. She openly admitted that she has been directly inspired by French Prime Minister Dominique de Villepins controversial French CPE law.

A look at the growing revolt against the CPE
A quick overview of the struggle so far over the new French labour law liberalisation package the CPE over the past few weeks.
French Prime Minister Dominique de Villepin unveiled the CPE on the 16th of January. He said that urgent action was needed to bring the French labour market into the modern era. The law would see employers hire 18-26 year olds on two year contract that would allow them to fire the youths without notice, and without explanation

1million walk out against French labour reform
Over one million French workers struck and demonstrated yesterday, October 4th against planned labour reforms by the Jacques Chirac’s government.
Widespread disruption was caused across public and private sectors, including on the trains, in aviation, the postal service, education and power. Workers took to the streets in nationwide protests in 150 cities, with 150,000 marchers reported in Paris, 100,000 in Marseille.

700 workers end Devon mail wildcat strike
An unofficial strike by Royal Mail staff in Exeter has come to an end. Workers had struck against plans to use casual labour.
The BBC reported that postal deliveries and collections are getting back to normal, after staff agreed to go back to work.
The strike action started when around 50 staff walked out of the mail centre in Exeter yesterday afternoon.
