The "loi sur l'egalite des chances" of which the CPE was only a part, remains.

The alliance of unions that opposed the CPE has called for a continuation of the struggle as have many of the protesting groups. The CPE was the straw that broke the camel's back, but the reaction may well see all similar legislation withdrawn.

Many are calling for the abolition of the CNE contract as well, and others are holding out wary of promises made. Of 62 universities which are not on holiday, 25 were disturbed according to the ministry for the Education, including five completely blocked.

- Four student demonstrators and one policeman were injured on Thurday, the 6th April. At the end of the aftermoon, the police force removed some 450 students who were blocking the railways on the North Matabiau station and stopped traffic for an hour and half. According to the local authority, the five injured people were transferred to the hospital.

Lycee Goussier-Perrin: occupation continues. The headteacher demanded that all students be present for the general assembly (AG) so that they could vote to return to lessons. 62% of just over 1,300 students voted to continue the blockade.

Lycee Livet: Of the school's 1,600 pupils, 600 attended an AG where the continuation of the blockade was voted for by 70% of students.

A meeting was called for 2.30pm outside the former Palais de Justice. Around 1,000 people answered the call, including older students from the university. The action originally decided upon, a blockade of the main crossroads in the town, quickly transformed into a series of spontaneous demonstrations.
