Northampton Socialist Forum
Hello!
Any comrades from northampton around?
Viva La Revolucion!
Is the Northampton Socialist Forum still in existence?
If it is, I'd like to remind all members of the existence of the Midlands Discussion Forum in Leicester and Birmingham, and furthermore issue the following invitation:
Invitation to Public Meeting
Proposed changes to forums
We are planning on removing all group forums on this site, as they get very little traffic and most groups tend to favour their own forums or lists or whatever. You can read about the changes on http://libcom.org/forums/feedback-content/proposed-changes-forums-09092008 and if you want to place an objection please do so there....
audiobooks project
I'm looking for people to help me produce a series of audiobooks to be added to my website : www.theoryandpractice.org.uk
I am looking for people who are willing to be recorded reading aloud.
The first books I am looking to record are:
Gilles Dauve "Communism and Capitalism" (first chapter of "eclipse and re-emergement")
Ken Knabb "Joy of Revolution"
Edelweiss Pirates / Cathy Come Home film
Tuesday 8th May at the NBC Club, Fish Street. 8.00pm
EDELWEISS PIRATES
The story of two teenage brothers living amid the rubble in bombed-out Cologne in the last days of World War 2. 17 year old non-conformist Karl secretly belongs to a group of friends known as the Edelweiss pirates (named after the tough mountaintop flower)
Invitation to all comrades of the NSF to come to Midlands Discussion Forum meetings...
Greetings comrades of the NSF,
Winstanley film at University of Northampton
I see from the forum that Winstanley has played recently in Northampton. Anybody who missed it first time round or would like to see it again, it will be playing at the University of Northampton on the 25th April as a commemoration of the Wellingborough Diggers. Full details below:
Newton Rebels website
This looks well good:-
Rebellion at Newton - 40 dead!In 1607, Halley's Comet was seen in England, a portent that perhaps held significance for the small Northamptonshire hamlet of Newton, where in common with many places in the East Midlands, the local landowner was enclosing the common land and tearing the peasants from their homes and occupations.

New to it
Just searched for a socialist forum and managed to get to this site. I'm a Student at Northampton and I'm from the area...
I'm after information on meetings etc, and what is generally involved with meetings, numbers of people, whether newcomers are welcome etc etc?
