- What do your politics mean to you?
They are a large part of my identity since they are connected with my INTJ personality. I attempt to use reason and careful study in order to understand myself and the world around me.
My political awakening occurred in high school during a discussion of history when I realized that I knew nothing about the USSR, socialism, communism, or anything about similar topics. A few books later (particularly Bellamy's Looking Backward), I was a born-again socialist. However, I began as a very statist person, advocating more of a manipulative system. Over time, I reasoned my way to less and less oppressive systems. As I entered college I began to border anarchism, however still haven't reached that point. I became a libertarian socialist because I think it holds all of the best qualities of anarchism, socialism, and communism in a very nice package indeed.
