anarchist federation debating the socialist party of england and wales at socialism 2015

hi all. comradely greetings. i understand from reading on twitter the socialist party of england and wales militant one were due to debate the anarchist fed at their annual socialism event in london. One of their members is putting it about that the a-fed bailed on them. i'm an anarchist and enjoy a good debate with a load of misguided trots but i cant see why the a-fed would bail on this if i know you guys well you dont run from a debate and take those pesky trots on fully frontal.

Did anyone go or know anymore about this supposed debate. Cheers all solidarity

Sounds a bit like the Darwin Ice Hockey team claiming to be world champions...

(I know they approached some AFed members to invite us along, but nobody said they were going as far as I know)

We were asked but did not reply. Hence we did not bail-out as they said, as nothing was arranged in the first place, so don't believe the Trot bollox
Show me where tweet is and we will reply to it

To clarify, Iwas approached by the SP member doing the talkabout 2 weeks before and asked if I could summarise the differences as I saw them between the SP and anarchist communist routes to communism.

I said if they wanted it to be an actual debate and not just a 'why trots are the best' talk it should have an anarchist speaker. About a week before the event the organisers confirmed that would be OK, so I asked around but no one in London was willing & able to do so at that short notice (I'm in Bristol).

I gave a statement to be read out detailing a personal account of the differences, primarily focusing on the anarchist view of the state and parties, the benefits of federalism over centralism, and the afed view of the role of revolutionary organisations. (can post if it anyone is interested). To the best of my knowledge it wasn't actually presented as a statement of my group let alone the entire fed

the individual on twitter seems to have retracted the statement afed bailed, blaming a poor choice of words, but not actually apologising!

update: now had an apology. guess the spats over with wink
