Directions: The meeting room can be accessed by going through the Costa Coffee Café and down the stairs. Once downstairs the room is set back (Prince of Wales Road end)

Speaker: Jacqueline Shodeke

The wages system only exists as long as labour power is a commodity. When commodity production for sale with a view to profit is replaced with the production of useful goods and services for human need, prices, including wages, will no longer be necessary.

Socialists try to convince their fellow workers that: "Instead of the conservative motto: `A fair day's pay for a fair day's work' they ought to inscribe on their banners the revolutionary watchword: 'Abolition of the wages system' " (Karl Marx).
