Fascist and Anti-Fascist Responses To The London Bombing

I think we need a thread to monitor the responses of the far-right to the terror attacks in London, and to discuss how we, as anti-fascists respond in turn.

Two elements I have spotted so far:

The BNP are pushing the line that some British Muslims are supportive of the attacks (and they are not talking about Captain Hook style looney tunes, but about market traders in Bradford)

An odd story is the suggestion (possibly true) that the Israeli government had foreknowledge of the bombings, and alerted Scotland Yard immediately before the attacks. You can well imagine how fascist groups (and some Muslim one's?) will twist this.

I do think Antifa needs to put a statement on its website, pointing out that now is a time for vigilance, not just against lunatic bombers, but we need to be vigilant against the other enemy within - those who would seek to use the fallout from these attacks to achieve their political objective of an ethnically cleansed Britain.

Exactly right Paul. Checking some of the football chat sites you can already see a 'baclkash' against Muslims and indeed any 'foreigners'.

These outrages play into reactionary elements in all communities: both Islamicist and European reactionaries want monoculturism, segregation, rigidly policed communities, raised tensions so that the state (or pseudo-state) can protect them. Anything which can disrupt this strategy against us, such as your suggestion for monitoring and countering Fascist propaganda, has to be welcomed and supported.

I mailed a mate in Brighton to ask if they'd managed to mount some opposition to the fascist meeting there.

He said, " yes we did stop their meeting at their original pub but they are claiming, and we have no evidence one way or another, that they booked another meeting place. Regardless they weren't able to advertise anything openly or organise openly and that is the main thing."

A pakistani person was murdered and had taliban insults at him by youth in Nottingham last Sunday night. I saw this on Irish Times this morning. if we cannot stand with people who have been target by elements of the media amd fascists because they are Asians or Muslims then what was our point at been in Sterling Edinburgh or Gleneagles. Those bastards the bnp are standing a scum in by election in some part of London using the outrageous fascist bomb attack for votes.

at this point it doesn't concern me if people pray to a wall, sun, or tree.

we were in the indymedia tent last Thursday morning in the eco village when people arrived worried about their loved ones and families after the bombs went off.

Article in today's Guardian

http//politics.guardian.co.uk/otherparties/story/0,9061,1529099,00.html

It states that 'rightwing groups such as the Nationalist Alliance and the National Front are said to be planning marches. Extremists hope to hold a march along Victoria Embankment in London tomorrow.'

There is a report of the meeting on their website.

Tyndall spoke at it, as did Tess Cullance, who is still a BNP member. Suspect she will be thrown out after this....

lets remember the whole bomb attack was a right wing act of terrorism.

Islamic loonies are Right wing nut cases in every concievable way from thier views on Women, gays, capital punishment, offensive war, freedom from religion, workers rights etc etc.

Hizb-Tahrir and al majaharun should be targeted in exactly the same was as their whitefash cousins

a failure to treat the above with teh same level of Violence as we show to the whitefash is Hypocricy and frankly based on a racist assumption that non whites are somehow not responsible for their loony rightist beliefs.

Hit the BNP AND hit the militant muslims (and Respect)

So far I don't think that the London bombings has increased active support for the far-right despite their best efforts (although they have increased racist attacks iof course). The NF march in Crawley a couple of weeks ago drew a massive 10 people and looking at their postings on football chat sites (weekly on Reading FC's for example) they don't seem to be generating much interest. All might change if there are more bombings though...

Agree that we need oppose militant Islam - no gods, no masters - although need to be careful.
