the bastards said we had a month to get out of iraq before they bombed us again, that's only been two weeks, that's just not cricket

sounds as if only detonators have gone off, either theyre amateurs who cant even make their bombs properly, the services have got involved and sabbed their bombs or its someones taking the piss, apparently the windows on the bus were blown out but no one is reported hurt and someones rucksack 'blew open' on the train

well fingers crossed, things stay as they are and it turns out there are no serious casualties, who do people think have done this? Who'd go onto the underground and explode detonators? The tabloid media will have a field day over this, what measures can they possibly introduce on top of email/text measage monitoring and 24 hour surveilance to stop such instances? A camera in every home would be my suggestion though of course far too costly unless it was a PPP initiative!

anyone else notice their employers being not so understanding as previously

my tube line is shut so it will take me an extra 2-3 hours to get home - we just got an email come round saying "we have to stay at work and not leave early"

I heard this report from the News 24 about midday from an "Eye Witnest Account". I not sure where he/she was but I am told by their account as follows.

"That there was a loud bang, somebody had seen the guy who had the backpack took it off and threw a bag on the train. He then ran off. Just then somebody in the carriage pick up the discarded backpack and shouted "You have left this behind!" and tried to give it back to him.

roll eyes

I've just walked home through Shoreditch, and there's still a huge area cordoned off around the bus.

As well as the cops manning the cordon on Shoreditch High Street, there were three people in orange jackets marked 'volunteer minister - church of scientology' giving directions. Weird.

i've just got home as well, walked about 3/4 of the way and got a bus the rest, only 3 tinnies this time as i gave a tinnie to a homeless dude on the street as we were watching the polis seal off yet another street and get all dramatic with the public, nothing came of it though

those "volunteer minister" dudes were all over the place on 7/7 as well, they obviously see it as fertile ground for recruitment in situations like this, sick cunts

I got the bus all the way home last night, 'cause there was confusion about whether Bank station was open or not.

The Mrs was already ensconced in the pub up the road, with next-door neighbour (retired chef from the merchant navy & all-round top bloke), so I eschewed the joys of dinner & got completely pissed. And got to play with a fantastic Staffordshire bull terrier (very mean-looking but soft as a brush).

(Still a teensy bit pissed this morning, but luckily my boss doesn't work on Fridays 8) )

She's got a job interview later on & she was in a worse state than me first thing.

I'm on pretty thin ice as it is, having beaten her at Scrabble twice over the weekend. eek

According to sky.

"Police have been given orders to shoot to kill if they believe someone is about to detonate a bomb."

So that kiddie, who got nicked near downing street yesterday, would have been fucked, good job he wasn't carrying a chair leg!

Great minds think a like, or fools seldom differ! ^^

Yes!!!

Mr Whitby, told BBC News: "I was sitting on the train reading my paper.

"I heard a load of noise, people saying, 'Get out, get down'!

"I saw an Asian guy run onto the train hotly pursued by three plain-clothes police officers.

"One of them was carrying a black handgun - it looked like an automatic - they pushed him to the floor, bundled on top of him and unloaded five shots into him.

"I saw the gun being fired five times into the guy - he's dead."
