Any ideas who posted what? And what the charges are against them? Has the moderator got any choice in the matter?

not really - either he caves in and hands over the 2 IPs, or refuses and they seize the server, get the IPs and everybody else's, and shuts down loads of @ websites - infoshop, flag, the af site, revolt etc., and he maybe goes to jail, loses job, house, wife, kid etc.

Pretty easy decision!

Its a bit wierd tho because i thought the Infoshop newswire was moderated? And isnt that one of the contentious issues (i.e. where something dodgy was posted?)

Shame if it goes the same way as raise the fist sad

VAC - IP - Internet Protocol Address - is what identifies a computer on the internet, so each when i connect to the internet my computer registers an address with the server which the server then uses to recognise the computer in order to serve it with data.

It is being claimed by someone over on flag that the FBI were interested in the comments at http://www.infoshop.org/inews/article.php?story=20050223213951804&query=muelle Now given that as I understand it the FBI order includes a gagging order on just what they are interested in this may be no more than an educated guess by the person posting.

Looking at that thread it includes a couple of daft insurrectionist type comments that could be construed as threats to the FBI official but these are really at the level of teenage rants so its easy to see why they escaped moderation. They don't look like the sort of comments that would be taken seriously by anyone.

sad Well it sucks whenever websites are threatened by the state for stuff.... at least its not like the Hizbollah or Islamic Jihad websites which used to get hacked down every couple of hours. Dunno if they are even online anymore!

Good luck Flag!
