I'm tired of Marlon bloody Brando, so I'm trying to change my avatar pic. What am I doing wrong?

Can someone please explain in basic terms as I'm shit at computers.

Click my account
click edit
scroll down to your picture
click delete picture
then click save
then scroll back down to the picture box
click browse
navigate to the new picture you want and click upload
click save again.

The image has changed - you just need to do a hard refresh to see it. Press control and F5

awesome. I was having the same issue. What is a hard refresh?

Sorry, misread your post. As far as I know the hard refresh completely refreshes the page, including cached elements.
