Logging out

I click the log out button every time before I turn off my computer but I'm always logged in when I turn the comp back on.How can I stop this, I don't want to do work at work, that's just plain wrong sad I might write about this horrible experience in my libcom blog.

Internet explorer.I'll log in at work, if it causes problems I'll create a dummy user so they can't get into my account and then fiddle with it until I can work out what the hell is going on.

Im not having this problem either. Maybe clear all your cookies from libcom.org.uk and try again. Oh actually - u had a library account before right? I bet thats what causing the problem. You need to find yuor old library cookies from libcom.org and get rid of those. Might be best to clear any ccokies from libcom.

My work comp was still logged on when I got here. It then logged me out after I'd posted a comment. I am very confused now. I'll log out and hope that no one abuses my identity. *prepares for drunken post rampage*

Aye, this has happened to me too - doesn't happen all the time but twice now I've logged out, turned off the computer and came back to find I'm still logged in. Using firefox if that helps any. Getting rid of cookies seems to have sorted it.

Hi, I think you'll find this is to do with the ?phpsessid setting in the .htaccess file on the Libcom site. The admins can edit this to set the session time to 0. Then when someone logs out, or closes their browser, the cookie doesn't keep them logged in. There's a thread on the Drupal forum that explains this issue:http://drupal.org/node/9788#comment-24120 B.

I'm at a mates computer and it wont let me log out. There nothing in the light grey section that there usually is? Do I need to download something? Is there another way to log out?

What browser version is he using?
It might be an issue with an older version, I remember IE used to not show the option.

In one Internet Explorer browser I believe the logout link doesn't show up properly. We recommend using chrome or Firefox, or at least the latest version of Internet Explorer

Not always possible, if you're not at home; I have this problem at uni (can't check my messages either, all the buttons on that whole bar are missing), but radicalgraffiti's link -

- seems to get me out OK.

EDIT: or does it? I have to log in again to make new posts, but while I'm logged out, my little grey dot shows that I'm logged in. I don't understand any more.

It should work, yes - or you can just type it into the address bar. After you log out thegrey dot takes a little while to update.
