just got thrown out after trying to post what for me was quite a long post i had given a lot of thought to. Yes I know I should have saved it, but it was not quite long enough for me to think about that. I can't arsed to do it again. just having a frustrated rant not having a go at anyone. But this problem if it continues will certainly reduce my interaction with this site (no, real loss, I know)and I would imagine others too. I am blaming all the name changes.

seriously it is not a minor problem if it persists, as it will definitely discourage
engagement with the site. i am sure it will be sorted soon. If your site isn't easy to use folks go elsewhere. i might be forced to visit ABC or even urban

the easiest thing in the meantime is ctrl-A ctrl-C which puts everything on the clipboard ready to paste into Word or something if it logs you out. takes under a second.

I keep getting logged out still... and keep having to do Captcha, it is extremely frustrating, especially given that traffic had just gone up so much

I'm getting logged out less often but I'm still having to do the captchas regularly.

I just could log in using explorer which i hate to use. With firfox i'm being always log out, i'm always unable to post. I cleared my cookies and nothing happens. Apparently only explorer works for me. Any suggestion?

Besides, i sent you two e-mails and received no answer. Didn't the admins receive em?

When you log in, there's now a "remember me" checkbox, this should give you a permanent session (unless you actually log out or clear your cookies).

If people still get logged out after clicking that checkbox, there's another issue elsewhere and I'll have to try to track it down more, is tricky when getting logged out happens pretty randomly but we'll see.

i've been logging in just fine, but whenever i navigate away from the site (e.g. close the tab) i must log in again when i come back. used to be i was logged in until i logged out. not a big problem, just reporting.

i mostly seem to get logged out after i post a comment, but i don't do that vary often, so i'm not sure if its connected

edit: so far every time i post something and then go to another site when i come back i find i am logged out, but this doesn't seem to happen when i don't post anything.

Tried every possible way of clearing cache and cookies, but still can't log in with Firefox. Continuing to log in with Safari.

petey/radicalgraffiti - do you still get this with the 'remember me' button?

Martin - when it fails to log you in, do you get sent to your user account, but logged out? Or something else?

I just added that checkbox.

Also, if you don't check it, you'll be logged out even more frequently than with the current bug, since it's also partially designed to stop people staying logged in by accident on public/shared computers etc.

It's been working for me all day as well. Still concerned about people who can't login via firefox though. If this is still an issue I'll try to come up with instructions on what information would help track it down.

Mike - Yes, when I try to log in with Firefox I get sent to my user account page, but without being logged in.

@petey the welcome back message is sickening, I'll try to find some time to review the module and switch some things off.

@Martin: if you're still getting this that's very annoying. Could you install the firebug or web developer extension for firefox and let me know the cookies you have on the login page, and the cookies you have after being redirected to your user account page?

Mike - will try whatever you said tomorrow when I figure out what it means! Have just been logged out with Safari again fairly quickly.

Make sure you click "remember me" when you log in. You'll need to do this from each browser/computer you use.

I just got logged out with firefox after i had checked the remember me box.

Mike - installed web developer. When I click 'view cookie information' on the log in page it says '0 cookies' and it is the same with the user account page.

I have been using the 'remember me' box with both browsers.

I was getting logged out fairly quickly with safari after posting a new topic, but not when posting a comment. Not sure if this still happening.

Thanks for your help with this.

I haven't been able to log in with the newest version of safari, it told me someone might have taken my username and so was getting rid of the 'cookies'. When I log in with it, it takes me to my user page but I am not logged in.
