I'd suggest Liverpool, Sheffield, Leeds, and Tyneside should all be separate from the counties that hosted them 40 years ago, as should Bristol for similar reasons. I'd say locals in those cities/conurbations are best placed to say whether they should be split further. Also, Yorkshire is too big and diverse a place to be meaningfully covered as one area - it should at least be split into N, S, W and E/Humberside.

WIth London I'd say start with 32 boroughs and merge/split as appropriate. With a couple of exceptions most are mergers of 2 or 3 smaller boroughs in the 60s, but I'm not sure how meaningful it is to split Lewisham and Deptford, for example.

Hi there
I'm not entirely sure what you're specifically aiming at here (I checked the 'topics' post too); guess I've missed an earlier post. My assumption is you are looking for some 'experts' in certain areas for something or other. Can I refer you to my post 'Help and Advice - Immigration in Lincolnshire', where I've requested if anyone know of local contacts and resources on the subject, and offered my services. I am quite sure that the fact no-one has yet replied to my post is because of the lack of activism, interest, knowledge in the Lincolnshire area. There was a recent 'Stop the Cuts' event in Lincoln for which six people turned up. Like I say in my post, I'm ready, willing and reasonably able. Apologies if this is the wrong place for this reply but I'm a bit worried about attitudes in Lincolnshire and the apparent lack of anything meaningful going on at all. Good luck in all resepective endeavours.
Cheers
Trev
