Thanks, the name is just a reference to the book 'At Swim-Two-Birds' by Flann O'Brien.

Ah, I am a philistine so couldn't spot it. Looked up the book and now I kind of want to read it. Sounds quite interesting.

I can't remember if I ever made an intro post, but here's another Revleftist looking for discussion.

I'm currently reading Dauve's Eclipse & Re-Emergence of the Communist Movement, and I'm pretty into how easy to follow it and Endnotes are. I'm not super educated and a lot of leftist stuff is hard for me to follow - my education after high school has pretty much been reading books. I'm thinking of reading something along the lines of Vaneigem's Revolution of Daily Life or Tronti's Worker and Capital next.

I'm not really fond of arguing and... I hope to have productive discussions.

Hello, folks.

I've been interested in anarchism since my late teens and I'm now in my early 30s. I joined this forum to keep up on the anarchist movement around the world; something I've been lazy with over the last couple of years owed to other commitments. I hope to meet some decent people here and debate interesting stuff as to wake up that part of my brain again..

I'm primarily an author, but I also write the occasional serious piece for Consented. My website is here:

Feel free to ask any questions. Meanwhile I'm off for a browse...

Inabit.

Howdy. I'm NGNM85. I'm a Libertarian socialist. Ideologically, I'm primarily influenced by anarchist thinkers, particularly Emma Goldman, and Noam Chomsky, however I am increasingly interested in libertarian Marxism, particularly the ideas of Karl Marx, Rosa Luxemburg, and Michael Harrington. My primary interests include philosophy, history, politics, and pop culture. Glad to be here.

Hello Steven thanks for your recent help. Really useful. Have two forum topics up already. One on theory and another news related to NHS.

Hello new to Socialism. Went to a Socialist Party public meeting on Jeremy Corbyn September 2015. Been to several SPEW branch meetings. Read lots of SPEW pamphlets but reading a blog post recently on another website by ex member of SPEW who resigned in April 2013 made me have pause for thought and come to conclusion Socialist Party of England and Wales is really not the organization for me if I am honest with myself. Also discovering recently how much SPEW are influenced by Leon Trotsky makes me have doubts anyway as I know sod all about Trotskyism. Keen to learn and discuss theory. Really curious about SPGB plus Trade Union History, Marxism and Anarchism in general. Hope I get a reply to this comment.

Hello ultraviolet thank you for your kind words. I was a member of Unison for five years until I got fed up of Unison being just an extension of Labour Party. There is the historical problem of because of Unison affiliation to Labour strikes at Labour run coucils by local Unison members have been discouraged by Unison officials. I think there should be leaderless trade unions. I have reached the conclusion that I need to look at Socialism by changing the lens of SPEW I was looking at capitalism through and look at Socialism through other perspective such as SolFed, Anarchist Federation, Class War and last but never least SPGB. At moment researching on Trotskyism and Bolshevism not because I believe in those concept but to truly understand what Trotskyism and Bolshevism really is as I have no idea and importantly why anarchist and anti bolshevik socialists such as SPGB dislike them.

Hi there comrade and other folk,

I'm a middle aged class struggle anarchist 'nutter' from Finland. I used to be active during 1987 to 1996 and droped political work and had other things in my life consuming all of my time and strengh. I get interested in anarchist scene and involved with some militants some five years ago. I 'm a bit confused by the new fashionable form of individualist anarchism favoured by the younger comrades here in Finland - this insurrectionalist tendency just don't make much sense to me - but maybe I'm just old smile

Horke Lavento: Welcome! SAC member here, interesting to hear your story. Were you involved in the Suomen AnarkistiLiitto? I am always wondering why there is not more networking between Swedish and Finnish initiatives (I know autonomists have some solid personal networks, but when I've encountered Finnish syndicalists on the internet, they usually ask whether the SAC have any contacts in .fi they could help them out with)
