Is this going to happen again ? Steven ? I can't seem to find the thread from last year but it definitely existed because I remember Steven casually suggesting me for best newcomer, I was flattered.
I don't even know if it was like done properly and actually was finally decided on or if it was just a fun little thread. I think it got de railed/binned and thats probably why I cant find it.
I liked that thread. Happy to flog it until it gets binned. Oceania has a good nomination for crappest action and worst thread.

I was thinking something along the lines of "worst place to be an anarchist on the internet." (I assume people aren't such dicks there irl.)
ComradeAppleton and his nemesis omen: "Blockhead of the year" and "Most effective take-down of the year" (or something along those lines), respectively.
Yeah fuck it we might as well just start with categories and stuff if no one can be bothered/can find the old thread from last year or admins want to make it official.
lol

You might be assuming a bit too much.
We are happy to make this thread official. Please feel free to start nominating categories/people/groups and everything now!
Most thorough use of an English dictionary in a single thread: Regicide
How the hell did I miss that? LOL. What a guy!
Oceania has a good nomination for crappest action and worst thread.
As an Oceania poster, I wholeheartedly support this nomination. Finally something to unite around
I think last year's awards thread got binned. Some sort of nasty scuffle broke out on it if I recall.
I'm also excited to see that stats on page/blog views, too...

Thanks Sabot, although I think JK needs a blog shout-out, too (although he's probably gotten recognition each year past as well).
Def with you on the articles/books, but let's not forget as well that Duruti biography went up this year and Glaberman's Punching Out, too.
I think JK needs a blog shout-out, too (although he's probably gotten recognition each year past as well).
I figured it goes without saying that JK's blog is always amazing.
Glaberman's Punching Out, too.
What?!? Link plz. I haven't been able to locate my copy in a while.
Shit, I think it did, but I can't seem to find it either.
Admins, am I mistaken?
Hey, we have Punching out by Paul Clemens in the library, but not Glaberman. You gave me Glaberman's one to scan but it's a pretty big book and I haven't been able to yet, and probably won't be able to for a little while
To all the many posters who try and have constructive, comradely discussions!
Most awesomest blog: Recomposition, working class solidarity
Cant find the thread but worst post revolutionary suggestion = have a sort of simulation of capitalism in some next place as an education thing, sort of like visits to auschwitz. Think it was HorrorHiro that suggested it.
Best new anarcho-communist theoretician of 2012: Anarchomedia
Capital is just stuff: tools, machines, finished products and of course tokens of exchange (money) and you can't abolish stuff, that doesn't make any sense. The problem with state-capitalism is that all the stuff that really matters ends up in the hands of the nasty minority of idlers, those we call the capitalists. Hence why we want to get back control of the means of production, the workers want to be capitalists too.Markets is just the exchange of owned stuff. Society can't function if people don't exchange stuff because no one nor any collective can possibly be entirely self-sufficient so to get things they lack they have to either steal or trade with others. Trade is plainly more moral and beneficient than stealing. Trade is a kind of mutual aid, stealing is mutual strife.
As for direct action:
...It is great that those workers got a little feeling of power from challenging the boss but they haven't really changed anything they are still just dispossessed wage slaves. This is supposed to be better than founding a coop? That's just fucked up.

Oh yeah, I do remember that, that would be fucking awesome.
We should do it for patriarchy and racism, too. Just, ya know, so we never forget.

massive admin fail of 2012:
not adopting my logo for the redesign
As to my earlier post:
Here's a thought, isn't the market dynamic essentially a dialectical process? Like so:-I want an ipad, give me an ipad for free! (thesis)
I could give you an ipad but in return I want a million bucks! (anti-thesis)
Okay I'll give fifty quid for it.
Done. Here you go! Enjoy! (synthesis)
so many conflicting levels of wrong to that quote its developed its own dialectic of wrongness. i could totally peter jackson that into three 3D films of wrong.
Yeah, that atheism thread was epic.
Just want to second Omen as best new poster.
I thought you won best newcomer last year.
