Does anyone know what's happened to flag.blackened.net? Its been offline for ages.
no, it's hosted by some guy in portland, I think.
Now don't quote me on this... But if my memory serves me well, i think it's down for good as the guy who was running it had some legal hassle. Basically i think he felt that it had done it's job and there were better sites out there now and it wasn't worth losing a court case over.
I remember this shit went down:
http://libcom.org/news/article.php?story=05/03/29/9955233
but didn't think the site was gonna close...
Wow, John's memory is better than Jason's shocker.
John is fast, efficient, accurate and damn sexy

Can we put this on our forthcoming libcom reviews page? From Jason from Deptford?
The server is still there but the flag.blackened.net domain name is owned by someone other than the guy (Dave) who runs the server. Dave has moved some considerable distance from theat guy and seems to be having problems contacting him - it may well be that yer man is freaked out by the FBI crap and making himself uncontactable.
You can reach any of the pages that were at http://flag.blackened.net/revolt/XXXX by substituting http://struggle.ws/XXX as struggle.ws maps onto the folder flag.blackened.net/revolt/ on the server.
Hopefully this will get sorted as there were probably in the region of 10,000 plus documents on flag, not all of which are available elsewhere on the net.
Infoshop also runs off that server so Chuck posts the occasional update on his blog at http://chuck.mahost.org/weblog/
Joeblack2 more informed than John Shocker!
Well on this at least.
Call me thickie

I havn't got a clue what you are talking about...
Flag was where all the Black Flag stuff was, as well as hosting the BF mailing list which died earlier this year. I think we need to find a new home for this stuff.
At some point there'll be a meeting to see if BF is going to continue, though IMO there haven't been enough new people come through to make it viable.
If we can recover the stuff is libcom interested in having a load of Black Flag articles on site?
Regards,
Martin
(the answer's yes of course)

He means that they've got all the WSM stuff online at another address... :)
Well not just the WSM stuuf but also all the other stuff on struggle, that includes for instance all the zapatista communiques translated from 1994 to about 2003, loads of Irish campaign stuff and a lot of international and historical anarchist stuff. I'd guess about 30% of content was WSM stuff.
Anyway have a look at http://struggle.ws and you'll get some idea
The site has been back again for several weeks and working fine!
Hoorah.
Thanks from Anarchist Federation as
flag.blackened.net is our US mirror site:
does anyone post on their forums?

Its always been offline for ages, i have never seen it online for any substantial period of time. Wasnt it hosted at a university somewhere in the US?
