Anyone interested up here in the wilderness that is the north east? we have set up an AYN group, if any wants to join us!

Hmm... personally the big Four Oh is perilously close, so I think joining any kind of "Youth" group is out of the question tongue . Seriously tho, there is a loose network of anarchist groups and folk around West Yorks who are willing to support comrades in the North East proper. [NB for southerners and other international comrades, we in Yorkshire are no more in the North East than the South West, as we are in fact the centre of the island, and indeed the globe tongue ).

On a practical level, were you planning on going to the Bookfair on the 25th and do you need help with transport - we're still organising transport from the Leeds/Bradford/Wakefield area and we may be able to help. If you're sorted, all well and good. If any help would be useful, reply and we'll sort offline comms to arrange.

cheers,

Paul

I'm also 'somewhat above' the age for the ayn, but am keen to get involved in any other northeast networks.

Have you seen similar discussions - on northeast meet ups - being had on Urban75?

I'm also going t'Bookfair - any ideas where/when northeasterners shout meet up/drink??

greetings offcentre! it would be great to build up some links with other crazy revolutionary types up here, of any age! i have absolutely no idea at all about where to meet people at the book fair, i reckon just shouting might work. smile (i'll be somewhere near a constant supply of malted hops and barley)

just out of interest, where abouts are u from? the northeast is fairly houge!

I'm gonna be cryptic- see if u can guess where i'm from.........

it has a massive abbey, a wanker of a tory MP, loads and loads of farmers, and um, thats about it. answers on a postcard 8)

i guess you know/ are ex-TAPP people? i'm in contact with a couple of them, and planning a meet up soon- PM me if u want an email adress etc

ello folks, i too am from the north east, near redcar/middlesbrough and would like to build up more links with like minds throughout the north east. am a member of IWW and am planning to drive down to manchester bookfair if anyone wants a lift. im also a bit old for any yoof group (33) and im not an anarchist tho very interested in anarchist history/philosophy and consider myself sympathetic to anarchism if that makes sense. easy now! blueporta.

hey people, i'm an anarchist from huddersfield, 21 tender years of age (heh heh). would like to know more about collectives being organised in the area, and if these collectives are planning action for the following events:

1.mayday

2.student top up fees march

3.anniversary of the war in iraq demo

if not it would be good anyway to meet up for a pint or coffee or sumthing and get an affinity group organised.

take care comrades

yea, i went down. thought cops overreacted, we caused a lot of hassle for them tho. They managed to fuck things up by being there in huge roll eyes numbers, even at half four in the morning! was fucking freezing as well.

Sorry if i blanked you captainmish, i thought i recognised you from the gathering- but wasnt entirely sure!

reasonably successful day really. 8)

at the main gate, with the newcastle and leeds peeps. 4 of our bus got nicked, luckily only taken to harrogate. Our gate was cleared very quickly and pretty brutally as well. Still managed to hold up the spies a bit tho. smile
