Are either of the Feds operating in Newcastle-Upon-Tyne? I'm moving up there soon. First person to suggest I join up with Autonomous Class War gets a Devrim Smackdown. Recently I've been thinking of joining SolFed (with WeTheYouth's promise of a giant cake).

To be fair to the Platformist, which obviously, I don't like to be.
We are the Manchester Group of the Anarchist Federation, an organisation of class struggle anarchists in England, Scotland, Wales and Ireland. There are other northern AF groups in Sheffield, Liverpool and Nottingham. We have members in other towns, including Newcastle, Preston, and Halifax. By bringing together northern anarchist communists, we hope to be able to support each other and further the growth of our movement and spread of anarchist ideas.
Devrim
We've got a member or two up that way. And our cake is much better than anything Solfed can come up with. At least it was at our camp last week. And we're so much more interesting.
try an email to newcastle@af-north.org
take that back, sectarian! solfed cake carries the whole history of the '36 CNT revolutionary cake collectives behind it!
And SolFed promised me a cake at least as tall as me and at least as wide as Rik Waller. And they've unofficially kept me fed for the past year.
ah, but ours has the magic of the Nottingham cake baking collective still actively baking today ....
at cake.
And they've unofficially kept me fed for the past year.
Putting the "fed" in SolFed.
Actually RefusedFed is probably a better name. At least it doesn't make you sound like a cross between Lech Walesa & StarTrek.
Kirk did security for him in the 80s, and with the end of DAM the obvious thing to do was team up again ...
You realise Lone Wolf will want to join now?

Hmm...giant cake vs tastiest cake...it's a tough decision.
You realise Lone Wolf will want to join now?![]()
With our age profile? Surely not.
Of course there's another option. Refused - you could join Solfed and then start a Newcastle group .....
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHA
oh well, it seemed like a nice non-sectarian solution.
Which fed to you feel politically closer to? (that's a serious question). That's the one to join.

what a crazy idea!

Look mate, if you wanna join Autononomous Class War you've got to really hate the romans.

Whichever bakes the biggest cake for me to scoff. I'm an Anarcho-Cakist.
i never got this joke, and if i did, it would still be getting more than a little old.
It's no joke.
Truly it's not a joke. At the last demo we went on together, a comrade from Solfed actually brought him a huge chunk of cake to eat.
Best demo ever.
but really made by the AF flags.
christ.
and the samba band sit-down outside the GMEX was pretty cool.
It wasn't as good as the cake.
I'd like to meet up with some AF comrades in Newcastle if there are any. Not sure about joining AF yet.
I know there's one AFer in Newcastle. Try emailing newcastle@af-north.org. If it doesn't work send me a PM and I'll try and put you in touch directly. There's also an IWW group there.
The cake looked good, btw. Pity about all my bloody allergies
As to joining anything, it only makes sense if you agree with the groups politics as expressed in both aims and principles and practice.
i think its fair to say of all libertarian groups in the UK, if you are in an area where there are only one or 2 people you are going to have to initiate activity in that area anyway. This isn't the case for london, manchester, sheffield, nottingham and many more - but if you move to an area w/o a main fed or only one member its what u make of it ime
Look forward to seeing you in the north east...... you'll love it up here!
