Anarchist discussion group this Wednesday in Auckland

Kia ora,
Just a quick message to let you all know that this Wednesday, 193a Symonds Street, will be hosting "@ space inside", an anarchist/autonomist discussion evening that we hope will become a regular event.

This is an informal and friendly space for anarchists and anti-state communists to come along and talk politics, activism and whatever. Because this is our first discussion group, we are asking people to bring along a book, zine, article that you find particularly inspiring/enlightening/informative, to share with the group.

So see you all there!
Wednesday 7th March, 7pm,
193a Symonds Street.

"@ space inside" literally refers to our goal, we seek through discussion, therorising, strategising, networking, critical debate and informed action to create a space inside the empire, inside the matrix of social relation that exist between the state on one hand and capital on the other other, a space from which to build a new anarchist movement for an anarchist century.

10 people turned out to the discussion group, some books got swapped and we had a good chat about Auckland anarchism and the state of the anarchist movement in Aotearoa. People talked about the need to get more anarchist agit-prop out to a wider audience.

People also stressed the need for an anarchist center in Auckland to use as a base for anarchist projects and networking and discussion. "@ space inside" - will next week be having people come along and talk about "what anarchism means to me".
