Did anyone go to the Jesus Radicals' South Pacific Anarchist Gathering?

Also, a discussion on religion and anarchy. Completely incompatible in my opinion, although I'm genuinely interested in hearing from anyone who went or is down with worshipping a supernatural dictator. I will settle for impolite jeers, too.

No, I didn't go (and wouldn't have any interest in going), but I do know one of the people who's one of the main NZ organisers. He's a really lovely guy, but they aren't anarchists - basically they have a lot of the politics of the worst lifestylists, combined with Jesus loving.

They've had 3 or 4 conferences now over the last few years - it alternates between NZ and Australia.

I met a couple of them years ago, and I think a guy I know through friends might be one. He used to park in the vice-chancellor's car park on principle.

It seems such a weird attraction for christians; it's hard to think of any political current more hostile to christianity than anarchy.
