Brown Bottle

Last week students in Dumfries protested outside the local Labour Party Head quarters, in protest against Russell Brown, their local toe-rag 'New labour' MP. Brown has voted for the war in Iraq, supported Foundation Hospitals, and (despite being a Scottish MP) voted in support of top-up fees.

Dumfries is by no means a radical town, despite the Burns connection, but such was the level of anger that the local MP, that he is attempting to defuse the situation by speaking at the local University Campus in Dumfries (Crichton) to justify his actions on Friday 5th March 2004 at 2.45pm. As far as I know it is a public meeting, so anyone can go along and make their views known about Mr Brown's actions.

Russell Brown MP will be speaking at the following debate in the Rutherford McGowan Building at the University of Glasgow, Crichton Campus Dumfries on Wednesday 17th March at 2.30 p.m. Room 120 "The Ethical Issues raised by the Hutton Enquiry" This debate is open to members of the public.

Another good chance to give him some stick for being a pro-market, New Labour politico.
