There is also an obvious difference between working class people who actually live that lumpen lifestyle and a bunch of middle class tourists who "politicise" such a lifestyle, just look at half the squatting movement, it's not folks who actually desperately need housing, it's generally folks who think it is a political act in itself. Look at Crimethincs tips on how to live homeless.

Are you joking, or are you actually this ignorant?

Most of the people you know who squat will be politico numpties who think it's political, because you're a politico numpty. The vast majority of squatters are just ordinary people who need somewhere to live. I mean if anything the sheer number of squatters dwarfs any crimethinc types. There are about a couple of hundred crimethinc types in the UK, and I'm not sure how many squatters there are, but in Brixton alone there used to be over 15,000 not so long ago. There will also be lots of immigrant squatters now as well.

You don't half talk shite sometimes, revol. Why don't you just admit you were wrong at the beginning rather than try to justify it with more nonsense?

But you referred to "half the squatting movement"- and in my experience, this is patently not true. Most people squat because they have to, they can't afford the rents in cities like London

I thought that made it clear I was talking about it as done by various politico activists. I mean i clearly not referring to the millions of folks on the outskirts of cities in the developing world who are sqautting land either.

I was actually going to mention how many irish immigrants in London were involved in squatting in the 70's and 80's but I thought i'd made it clear enough I was only talking about those people pushing it forward as a "political" lifestyle in itself.

Oh right, so only "half the squatting movement" who are politicos pushing it as a lifestlye are politicos pushing it as a lifestlye? What are the other half then?

Or just stop digging and say you were wrong, and just acting like a strawman charicature of a class struggle anarchist...

Yeah such people generally don't see themselves as a "movement". I think it was quite clear that I was reffering to those people who celebrate it as a political act itself, afterall I did draw a sort of line between those who have to live such a lifestyle and those playing at it for pseudo political reasons.

Yes and you clearly drew that line at the half point saying there was the same number of each. roll eyes
