Tiger Woods - shot advert during strike

A scab in one

Golfer Tiger Woods scabbed on a commercial actors strike in 2000 by filming a non-union advert for Buick in Canada.

Populist.com reported that Woods' agent has portrayed the shoot as a contractual obligation that had to be fulfilled immediately because of its tie to the upcoming Sydney Olympics.

Previously, the golfer had said he supported the strike, and had been a hero to SAG and the American Federation of Television & Radio Artists (AFTRA) for refusing to shoot a Nike ad on the day after the strike began.

Maxim magazine stated:
'He’s a lousy scab. Screen Actors Guild member Tiger said he supported SAG’s strike…till Buick paid him to film a commercial. Union rep Rocco said, “Let’s see how good he is with two broken ankles.”'
